Postionality
LINKS emerged from our recognition that conversations about climate justice often collapse into binaries—activist versus denier, economic growth versus ecological survival, North versus South. As a group of designers, educators, and artists from across the world, we created this game not to offer solutions, but to hold space for uncertainty, conflict, and critical reflection.
The game simulates how individuals navigate climate events and political decisions, filtered through the lenses of identity, privilege, and structural constraint. Role cards and life events reflect diverse social positions; policy tiles intersect across environmental, social, cultural, and economic realms. Crises emerge not from randomness, but from imbalance—a metaphor for the consequences of ignoring interconnected injustices.
LINKS is an experiment in dislodging fixed ideologies. We hope players not only confront their own assumptions but also encounter how others’ lived realities might reshape what "justice" means. It’s designed to raise uncomfortable questions, spark curiosity, and ultimately foster deeper understanding across and despite differences.
